Must-have Tactical Gear for US Navy
Naval officers are provided with certain tactical gear that is designed exclusively for use by them. This is so that they can be more effective in combat and improve their efficiency. In no particular order, here are the 3 most important tactical gears every naval officer should have.
- Tactical Glass
Unless it’s raining sideways, navy seals can’t go without a good pair of sunglasses. It is always important to have good eyewear protection when diving on boats or practicing shooting on ranges. A good pair of sunglasses can protect your eyes from sand, dirt, and grit when you’re performing a mission in sandy conditions.
- Tactical Head Gear
If you look around the naval officers, you’ll see that they have a variety of headgear. The navy seals wear various kinds of headgear, such as baseball caps and balaclavas, depending on the situation. The kind of headgear that will be worn by a person will also depend on their mission. If you are in the ocean, you might want to wear a diving hoodie to protect yourself from the cold water. For a mission in the forest in the heat of the day, such headgear would be impractical. A classic green Boonie hat is enough to keep the sun off your head.
- Tactical Vests
There are various tactical vests used by navy seals. Just like the headgear, the kind of tactical vest used also varies as it is dependent on the mission and environment of the mission. A tactical vest that is fit for a water operation will be different from that that would be fit for a desert operation. When it comes to close-quarter combat, most naval officers tend to opt for a similar vest to those worn by SWAT agents.
